Making a Difference

This quiz shows that if everyone lived like me, we would need 1.5 planet. Also according to the quiz, my footprint is 2.7 global hectares. I think that my footprint shouldnt be that big. But according to the quiz, it is this way because of the foods and services i use. Other than that, my footprint would be really small. I think the worst thing i do for the environment would be not recycling and throwing garbage on the floor. I think that i am going to start saving water by taking shorter showers, also turn off lights i do not need, and recycle garbage. If I do this I hope to reduce my footprint on the world.

Films and Movies

My favorite type of movie would have to be Action/Drama or some kind of Comedy. I like these type of movies because they sometimes show what real life is all about and what you should do to pursue your dreams. Much like a movie i just watched recently "Crossover". This movie is about a naturally talented basketball player, Noah, who is determined to become a doctor using a scholarship to UCLA. His best friend who took the fall for him and did the time for an assault charge, Tech, who is also an outstanding basketball player. Noah has been offered a couple of times to turn pro, but his dream of becoming a doctor continues. He refused big offers but he would not give his dream away. They both take a trip to LA to pursue their dreams. When they come back some things have changed. Their lives are no longer the same. Noah finds out his girlfriend lied to him and helped to get rid of his scholarship, so he would not become a doctor and instead go to the NBA. Noah gets into an accident and can no longer play basketball. His friends gather up money for him to pursue his dream and be able to pay for a good university, and finally become a doctor.

Current Event

My event is about 34 graduate students who got caught cheating.

I read the article "Duke's business school punishes 34 graduate students for cheating" in CNN.com, on May 2, 2007.

On May 1, After finding consistencies in exam answers, a professor decided to check other assignments that had been handed in. A judicial board later investigated the final exam and other assignments, resulting in the punishment of 34 graduate students. Nine students face expulsion from the competitive two-year program, which will cost first-year students in 2007 almost $50,000 for tuition, books and a laptop computer. Another 15 students could be suspended for one year and receive a failing grade in the course. Nine others are set to get a failing grade, and one student could receive a failing grade on an assignment separate from the exam. Four others were found not guilty. This was considered, the largest cheating scandal ever at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business
